Riyadh, 28 April 2011: STC continues its commitment to bring the latest in smart phones and tablet PCs to customers providing them with a wide range of choices in order to match their requirements and aspirations, while at the same time customers benefit from STC's comprehensive broadband network that includes wired network and FTTH, in addition to the wireless network which has speeds reaching 42 mega, and the free STC Public Wi Fi network.

Announcing its latest innovation, STC stated that in partnership with Motorola Mobility it has commenced registration to purchase the Motorola XOOM™ Wi Fi Tablet PC. This device is the first of its kind to operate Google's Android™ 3.0 Honeycomb. Customers can register for this service by sending and SMS with XOOM to 800839 and they will be contacted as soon as the device is available at STC sales outlets.

This new tablet PC will be competitively priced at SR 2,499 with the option to access STC Public Wi Fi service which is available in more than 2000 locations and is accessed using m3com.com.sa for one year without any restriction of the data used.

Commenting on the launch of the new device, Jameel Al Molhem, VP of Personal Services at STC, affirmed that STC is the market leader in telecommunications in Saudi Arabia and other markets that are enjoying solid growth.

He went on to say: 'We aim to exceed our customers' aspirations and achieve more than their expectations by providing products and services that make a significant enhancement to their lifestyle. From this stand point we are availing Motorola's XOOM™ Wi Fi Tablet PC for customers to enjoy a unique device that is easy to use and provides a superior experience through its technologically advanced degree of efficiency.

The Motorola XOOM™ has a dual processor of 1 gigahertz and a 32 bit memory with 1 gigabyte ram, two cameras in the front and back of the device and a 10.1 inch high definition screen. The tablet PC provides exceptional performance in terms of speed and demonstrates the level of innovation provided by the Honeycomb experience and the various features including Google™ services.

The device, which supports all Flash programs and files, is capable of performing multi tasks at the same time, such as browsing the internet and receiving notifications and customizing the features to suit the needs of its owner. Due to the 800X1280 high definition screen the device plays videos and displays pictures with exceptional quality. In addition, the HDMI feature enables video viewing on larger screens such as HDTV for 10 hours continuously. Also providing superior results, the 5 megapixel camera in the back of the device enables high quality video recording with crystal clear image quality of 720 pixels, while the front camera provides a 2 megapixel image allowing the user to make clear video calls using Google Talk™ services.
